Helic Republic

Supposedly (and usually) the "good guys", thought not as happy-perfect-fun as that appears on the surface. Also around before the Empire damn you anime and Star Wars.

Founded by King Helic through somewhat dodgy means (I'll unite everybody by leading these other nasty guys onto both sides, forcing us to work together!), and taken over by his son Helic II, then his niece Camford. And then presumably Rob Hermann, her son. That's a lotta hereditary power for a republic, there, guys. Also, your council were dicks.
